How to Clone and Move Your Mac OS X on HDD to SSD as Is

Right now, I have taken my current Mac OS X system to a new era with SSD by cloning it (without installing from scratch).

Steps:

1 - SSD connects to Mac via a simple USB-SATA converter or a stylish Docking Station.

2 - A bootable partition is created on the SSD using the Disk Utility tool that comes with Mac OS X. Here, it is important to select "1 Partition" from "Partition Layout" and "GUID Partition Table" as "partition scheme" from the selection screen displayed when you click the "Options" button. After the selections are made, the partition is created by saying "Apply".

3 - Let's come to cloning our current system to SSD. There are many tools for this, I used the "Carbon Copy Cloner" tool that you can download an unlimited 30-day trial version from http://www.bombich.com/. The process we will do here is very simple: The partition where our current system is installed as "Source" (in most cases this is "Macintosh HD"), the partition we created in our SSD as "Destinition" is selected, and then the cloning is started by saying "Clone". In my case it took about 40 minutes. (40 GB)

4 - All that's left is to remove (physically) our existing hard drive and set up our new SSD.
